Employee Spotlight: Meet Sally Pak

That’s why we’re excited to introduce you to one of our team members, Sally Pak, who has been with us for nearly eight years. In this Employee Spotlight, we talk to her about her role at Oakleaf, what she enjoys about working here, her proudest accomplishment, and more. Q: How long have you been with Oakleaf, and what is your role here?

A: I have been with Oakleaf for almost eight years, and I manage our relationships with our clients and consultants for Talent Solutions.

Q: What is working at Oakleaf like, and what do you enjoy the most about it?

A: Working at Oakleaf is like working amongst friends and family who want you to do well and provide you with the tools and opportunities to excel. I enjoy the flexibility and people the most. The smaller size of the company lets you get to know others and helps them really get to know you as well. You get exposed to more opportunities and responsibilities that you otherwise would not be able to in a large corporation.

Q: What has been your proudest accomplishment at Oakleaf?

A: My proudest accomplishment at Oakleaf is rebuilding the way we interact with our consultants, clients, and each other.

Q: What would you say to someone considering a career at Oakleaf?

A: I would tell them to go for it. Oakleaf is a great place to build upon your current skills and explore other areas that you might not have the opportunity to at a larger firm.

Q: What is your personal motto?

A: You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.

Q: What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

A: I enjoy going to the park with my pups, practicing yoga, watching stand-up comedy, and listening to true crime podcasts.

Q: Can you describe your role in more detail and how it has evolved since you started at Oakleaf?

A: I think of my role in two parts—the people and the process. I create and maintain relationships with our clients and consultants, both past and present. I also work with our clients’ respective procurement teams to ensure that we onboard our consultants seamlessly and stay compliant. My role has evolved significantly since I first started with Oakleaf—partly because I was with a different vertical when I first started, but also because I grew with the company and my career. I have been able to figure out what I am good at, not good at, what I like, what I don’t like, and the best way I can contribute to Oakleaf.

Q: What was your most interesting or unusual job before joining Oakleaf?

A: I was a journalist.

Q: How has Oakleaf helped you in your career development?

A: Oakleaf has provided me with the ability to try different responsibilities and work with different departments to see what works best for me and the company. I have participated in Oakleaf’s professional development program, which has helped me fine-tune my skills.

Q: What three words would you use to describe Oakleaf?

A: Professional, compassionate, open.

Q: What music are currently listening to?

A: I’m listening to a little bit of everything!

Q: What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?

A: I really enjoy the relationships I get to have with people, whether internal or external. It feels great to know that I can provide a safe space for others, help them achieve goals, and follow through.

Q: What types of people work well at Oakleaf?

A: People who do well at Oakleaf are not afraid to roll up their sleeves and do work—not just what they are assigned but also dive in to see how else they can contribute to Oakleaf’s success.
